In the 25th year since its conceptualization, CICA has carved out a niche for itself in the international arena and has matured into a vibrant and important forum for sustainable peace, security and stability. Within few years of the initiation of the process, CICA was able to adopt basic documents and complete the process of institutionalization, including establishment of the Secretariat.
Today, member states are implementing confidence building measures in five broad dimensions in military-political and socio-economic spheres to achieve the basic objective of creating a common and indivisible area of security in Asia, where all states co-exist peacefully and their peoples live in conditions of peace, freedom and prosperity. Kazakh, Turkish and Chinese Chairmanships of CICA, with cooperation of all the member states, have made great contributions to the CICA process.
