CICA Executive Director Ambassador Kairat Sarybay met with Ambassador of the State of Israel to Kazakhstan Edwin Yabo Glusman at CICA headquarters on 11 February 2022.
Ambassador Sarybay briefed the counterpart about the priorities of the current Kazakh Chairmanship and the increasing scope of interaction among the Member States.
The Executive Director presented the conceptual approaches to the transformation of CICA into an international organization for regional security, one of the strategic goals of the Kazakh Chairmanship. It was emphasized that the proposed transformation will be carried out on an incremental and step by step basis, considering the views of all Member States. The unique qualities of the forum - the principle of consensus in decision-making and the principle of voluntary participation in the implementation of confidence building measures - will remain unchanged.
The interlocutors exchanged views on the situation in the Middle East. The Israeli diplomat noted that the CICA serves as an effective platform for dialogue and practical interaction on a wide range of security issues. Edwin Yabo Glusman said that Israel will continue close cooperation within the framework of CICA.
