In the Joint Statement of the Ministers of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Kazakhstan and the Republic of Turkey signed on 24 February 2022 at the Seventh Meeting of the Joint Strategic Planning Group, the parties highlighted the importance of deepening cooperation within international and regional organizations, including within CICA.
The sides noted that over the 30-year period of its history of development the Conference on Interaction and Confidence Building Measures in Asia had contributed to strengthening security and cooperation in Asia and expressed their support for the transformation of CICA into a full-fledged international organization.
On behalf of Kazakhstan, the Statement was signed by Deputy Prime Minister - Minister of Foreign Affairs Mukhtar Tileuberdi, on behalf of Turkey – Minister of Foreign Affairs Mevlüt Çavuşoğlu.
