The Fifth Plenary Session of the CICA Business Council and the Seventh CICA Business Forum will be held on 27 June 2022 at the Astana International Financial Centre, located in the EXPO complex in the capital of Kazakhstan.
This proposal of Kazakhstan in capacity of the CICA Chairman was unanimously approved by the Deputy Chairmen of the Board of the Business Council from Thailand, Turkey and Russia.
Executive Director of the CICA Secretariat Ambassador Kairat Sarybay communicated this decision to the newly appointed Chairman of the Board of the CICA Business Council – Chairman of the Presidium of the National Chamber of Entrepreneurs of Kazakhstan “Atameken” Raimbek Batalov at a meeting held on 10 March 2022.
It was decided that the Plenary Session of the Business Council, to be held in the morning, would discuss the issues of digitalization of business processes. It was noted that digitalization was an effective way to continue business in the pandemic and for unshadowing small and medium-sized enterprises, which contributes to sustainable economic growth.
In the afternoon, the CICA Business Forum will continue to discuss this topical issue and consider successful start-up projects, implemented in CICA Member States, as well as provide a platform for presentations on food security in a pandemic.
Organizational support for the CICA events would be provided by the Astana International Financial Centre, the Ministry of Digital Development, Innovations and Aerospace Industry, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and other state bodies of Kazakhstan.
The CICA Business Council, established at the initiative of Russia, is an advisory body of CICA, to which each of the 27 Member States delegates three representatives, two of whom represent small and medium-sized enterprises, and the third – a public authority that regulates the activities of SMEs. Previous Business Council sessions were held in China, Kazakhstan and Russia.
The CICA Business Forum, established at the initiative of Thailand, is a platform for discussing topical issues of the CICA business community. Previously, Business Forums were held in Thailand, Turkey, Russia, China and Kazakhstan.
