In the run-up to the Sixth Summit of the Conference on Interaction and Confidence Building Measures in Asia (CICA), President of Kazakhstan Kassym-Jomart Tokayev received CICA Executive Director Ambassador Kairat Sarybay on 7 September 2022.
Ambassador Sarybay informed the Kazakh leader about the substantive and organizational preparations for the Summit to be held in Nur-Sultan on 12-13 October in the year, marking the 30th anniversary of the Conference.
During the meeting, special emphasis was placed on the implementation of the Kazakh Chairmanship’s priorities, including the initiative to transform CICA into an international organization.
The Head of the Secretariat also reported on the status of approval of the draft outcome documents of the upcoming Summit.
The President of Kazakhstan emphasized the importance of high-quality organization of the Sixth Summit and gave specific instructions for further implementation of the priorities of the Kazakh Chairmanship in CICA.
