On 5 November 2020, the Executive Director H.E. Ambassador Mr. Kairat Sarybay paid a courtesy visit to H.E. Ms. Nguyen Thi Hong Oanh, Ambassador of the Socialist Republic of Viet Nam to the Republic of Kazakhstan.
The Head of the Secretariat expressed interest in active participation of Viet Nam in the CICA process and commended the initiative of Viet Nam to establish contacts between CICA and ASEAN. He noted that the Secretariat welcomes the participation of Viet Nam in trainings and exchange of experience within the CICA framework.
Ms. Nguyen Thi Hong Oanh noted that a number of CICA member states are members of the ASEAN and this can become a bridge for establishing contacts between the two Organisations. She emphasized that the principles of the Conference, based on the norms of international law and aimed at establishing a dialogue and solution of regional issues will contribute to strengthening security in Asia.
The interlocutors agreed to continue the cooperation within the CICA framework.
