As part of the initiatives of President of the Republic of Kazakhstan Kassym-Jomart Tokayev announced at the Sixth Summit of the Conference on Interaction and Confidence Building Measures in Asia (CICA), Secretary General of CICA Ambassador Kairat Sarybay met with Minister of National Economy of Kazakhstan Alibek Kuantyrov.
The Secretary General informed his counterpart about CICA’s current activities and progress in the implementation of the Kazakh Chairmanship’s priorities for 2023-2024.
A major topic of discussion was the prospects of cooperation within the CICA Business Council and Business Forum in food security, green finance and renewable energy.
Moreover, the meeting considered different aspects of economic growth in the CICA region, economic connectivity, digitalization of business processes, and trends in international economic and financial relations.
The Minister of National Economy briefed the Secretary General on the Government's plans for sustainable economic development and shared its vision for a number of specific areas to implement the priorities of the Kazakh Chairmanship in CICA.
The parties agreed to continue their deliberations, including on macroeconomic analysis and forecasting, as well as on the development of small and medium enterprises in the CICA space.
