On November 20-21, 2019, the Member of Professional Personnel of CICA Secretariat Sholpan Yelkeyeva, took part in the Economic Forum of the UN Special Program for Economies of Central Asia (SPECA) hosted by the Government of Turkmenistan.




On November 20-21, 2019, the Member of Professional Personnel of CICA Secretariat Sholpan Yelkeyeva, took part in the Economic Forum of the UN Special Program for Economies of Central Asia (SPECA) hosted by the Government of Turkmenistan.

In her welcoming speech, she emphasized the immediate proximity of values and objectives in CICA and SPECA spaces and briefed the participants on Confidence Building Measures of economic nature carried out under the CICA umbrella.

She noted that joint projects in eight areas of Economic Dimension, namely in finance, development of small and medium-sized businesses, energy security, information technology, tourism, transport corridors, agriculture, sustainable development are aimed at strengthening peace, security and prosperity in CICA space, which covers 27 states and 92 % of Asia.

Sh.Yelkeyeva underlined a  long lasting positive  and multiplicative effect of a number of Business Forums organized by the CICA Member States to build and strengthen business links and connectivity between CICA Member States. She also mentioned the Business forum held by Russia in 2018 as one of the most successful.

Sub - regional economic cooperation in CICA area, such as cooperation in Central Asia, is being considered as a promising tool for promoting peace and security in Asia.
