The Executive Director of the CICA Secretariat, Ambassador Kairat Sarybay, and the Ambassador of the Democratic Socialist Republic of Sri Lanka in Moscow, Prof. Meegahalande Durage Lamawansa, were able to reflect and agree on active interaction in the development of the CICA at an online courtesy video call on December 30, 2020.


The Executive Director of the CICA Secretariat, Ambassador Kairat Sarybay, and the Ambassador of the Democratic Socialist Republic of Sri Lanka in Moscow, Prof. Meegahalande Durage Lamawansa, were able to reflect and agree on active interaction in the development of the CICA at an online courtesy video call on December 30, 2020.

During the meeting, the parties discussed the issues of public health, prospects for cooperation in the field of Tourism within the CICA Economic Dimension, in which Sri Lanka is the Co-coordinator.

Ambassador Kairat Sarybay commended Prof. Meegahalande Durage Lamawansa for his support and active role in the CICA process. He expressed hope for close cooperation within the framework of the implementation of the CICA Plan on Confidence Building Measures for 2021.

In turn, Prof. Meegahalande Durage Lamawansa noted the importance of cooperation in the field of epidemiological safety in combating the effects of the COVID-19 pandemic and expressed his readiness to make further efforts in the work of the Forum.
