Beijing, 19-21 November 2024 – The 2nd International Conference on Mine Safety Risk Prevention and Control on enhancing cooperation among CICA Member States successfully concluded. The event, organized by the Department of International Cooperation and Rescue, Ministry of Emergency Management of the People’s Republic of China, and the Ministry's Information Institute, drew participants from eleven CICA Member States and included China's leading academicians and experts of the mining industry.
The conference commenced with a training session focused on vital aspects of mine safety, including work safety risk management, intelligent development strategies for mine safety and intelligent mining solutions. A key element of the training involved on-site observations at leading intelligent mining equipment facilities, allowing attendees to experience firsthand the practical application of these advanced technologies and equipment.
The opening address of CICA Secretary General Ambassador Kairat Sarybay, which was read out to the participants of the event, underscored the significance of the conference and its alignment with CICA’s priorities within the environmental dimension. He stressed the importance of strong regulations and advanced technologies to mitigate the environmental footprint of mining activities.
During the sessions, participants delivered presentations and engaged in discussions centered around exchange of policies and best practices in mine safety management and risk prevention and control.
The workshop served to enhance the efforts of CICA Member States towards prioritizing the safety and well-being of those working in the mining industry while advocating for environmentally sound mining practice.
