Cooperation of the CICA countries in the economic dimension was discussed at a joint meeting of the CICA Secretariat and the Diplomatic Business Club in Nur-Sultan on February 5, 2021.

In his welcoming remarks, the Executive Director of the CICA Secretariat, Mr. Kairat Sarybay, informed about the implementation of the 2021 CICA Plan for Confidence Building Measures and expressed hope that meetings in that configuration would become a good tradition facilitating stronger cooperation among the CICA Member States.

Ambassador Kairat Sarybay invited the Diplomatic Business Club to be a part of the CICA events in the economic dimension with an emphasis on small and medium-sized enterprises.

The First Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of Kazakhstan, Mr. Nuryshev, expressed hope for increased cooperation between the Member States in the economic domain and noted the intention to establish a CICA Club of Ambassadors in Nur-Sultan that would enable deeper interaction among the CICA Member States.

Participants of the meeting have also been informed of the working plans of the Diplomatic Business Club for 2021.

In the course of the meeting, the Member States and Observers expressed their readiness to make further efforts within the CICA process, as well as to maintain close contacts as part of the Diplomatic Business Club in order to strengthen mutually beneficial cooperation.

The event was attended by Co-Chairman of the Diplomatic Business Club, Mr. Islambek Salzhanov, Chairman of the Board of the Kazakh National Chamber of Entrepreneurs "Atameken", Mr. Nariman Abilshaikov, Ambassador of Hungary to Kazakhstan Mihály Gálosfai, representatives of YPO Kazakhstan, CICA Member States and Observers.
