Аstana, 21 February 2025 – The Secretary General of the Conference on Interaction and Confidence Building Measures in Asia (CICA) Ambassador Kairat Sarybay addressed the First meeting of the Coordination Council of the CICA Partnership Network of Leading Universities (PNLU) and reaffirmed CICA’s dedication to fostering academic excellence, research collaboration and promotion of intercultural dialogue across vast and diverse CICA region.
Representing the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Azerbaijan, Azer Musayev, Director of the Department of Regional Security, emphasized that education and science are top priorities of Azerbaijan’s Chairmanship in CICA. He underscored that PNLU will serve as a vital platform for enhancing collaboration, strengthening mutual trust and reinforcing confidence building efforts among CICA Member States.
Dr. Fariz Ismailzade, Member of Parliament of the Republic of Azerbaijan, Vice Rector of ADA University presented the vision and planned activities of ADA University in Chairing the PNLU Coordination Council. He proposed the guiding motto of ADA University in PNLU Coordination Council as “Education as a catalyst for cooperation and confidence building in CICA”, highlighting the transformative role of academia in fostering regional stability.
Representatives of PNLU Coordination Council member universities: Lanzhou University (China), University of Delhi (India), Eurasian National University named after L.Gumilyov (Kazakhstan), Kyrgyz National University named after Jusup Balasagyn (Kyrgyzstan), Bukhara State Medical Institute named after Abu Ali Ibn Sino (Uzbekistan) provided a brief history of universities and expressed strong dedication to operationalize the PNLU to bring tangible results for development of science and education.
