24-28 February 2025 – Istanbul – An online workshop was held on the training programme for law enforcement agencies of the Member States of the Conference on Interaction and Confidence Building Measures in Asia (CICA), focusing on open-source intelligence in criminal investigations. The workshop was held online by the Turkish International Academy against Drugs and Organized Crime (TADOC) in cooperation with the CICA Secretariat. The workshop brought together over 30 representatives from 15 CICA Member States.
The main objective of the training programme is to equip law enforcement officers with the necessary knowledge, techniques and skills to collect and analyze intelligence from open sources and social networks, with a particular emphasis on crimes that have been committed or imminent crimes, identifying fake accounts on social networks and utilizing special open-access software for intelligence search and analysis.
