Astana, 30 May 2025 – Secretary General of the Conference on Interaction and Confidence Building Measures in Asia (CICA) Ambassador Kairat Sarybay participated in the 2025 Symposium on Governance and Dialogue on Humanitarian Exchanges between China and Central Asian States, organized by the Publicity Department of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of China and the China International Communications Group.
In his speech, Deputy Head of the Publicity Department of the CPC Central Committee Mr. Hu Heping emphasized the relevance of multilateralism and noted that the path to shared prosperity lies in modernization and regional cooperation. The speaker also stated that for more than 30 years, China and the Central Asian countries have actively engaged within multilateral platforms, highlighting CICA as an important dialogue format. Mr. Hu Heping called for enhanced humanitarian exchanges between peoples, particularly in the areas of education, science, culture, media and youth initiatives.
Secretary General Kairat Sarybay underscored the significance of the region’s historical ties and noted the unique opportunity to develop a strategic partnership founded on trust, dialogue and interaction. Particular emphasis was placed on the role of CICA as a platform for strengthening confidence building measures, sharing experiences and promoting joint initiatives, including cultural and youth projects, scientific cooperation, as well as environmental, and transportation and logistics initiatives. As he concluded his remarks, the Secretary General stressed CICA’s readiness to support integration processes and serve as a platform for dialogue in the pursuit of peace and sustainable development.
The Symposium was also attended by Vice Minister of Culture and Information of the Republic of Kazakhstan Yevgeniy Kochetov, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the People's Republic of China to Kazakhstan Mr. Han Chunlin, Executive Secretary of the Amanat Party Daulet Karibek, as well as representatives of the diplomatic corps, academic and social circles of Central Asia and China.
