Minsk, 25-27 June 2025 – Secretary General of the Conference on Interaction and Confidence Building Measures in Asia (CICA) Ambassador Kairat Sarybay paid a working visit to the Republic of Belarus and, at the invitation of the Chairman of the Board of the Eurasian Economic Commission, took part in the Fourth Eurasian Economic Forum.
The Forum brought together over 2,700 participants from 33 countries and included 35 events covering six key thematic areas with a wide range of issues in the fields of finance, industry, agriculture, energy, trade, transport, technical and customs regulation, public procurement, statistics and other domains of integration-related cooperation.
Attending the Forum, the CICA Secretary General addressed the panel session “Dialogue of Interstate Associations: Convergence of Economic Potentials and Deepening Trade and Economic Cooperation”, where he expressed support for the initiative of regular interaction among regional organizations as an important tool for synergy of multilateral efforts in the interests of ensuring common and indivisible security, promoting sustainable development and fostering an interconnected Eurasia.
In his speech, Ambassador Sarybay noted the important role of CICA as a relevant and effective pan-Asian mechanism of multilateral diplomacy, presented the key achievements of the organization under the chairmanship of Kazakhstan in 2020-2024 and outlined priority areas under the current chairmanship of the Republic of Azerbaijan.
On the sidelines of the Forum, the Secretary General held working meetings with Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Belarus Pavel Utyupin and Chairman of the EEC Board Bakytzhan Sagintayev.
During the substantive exchange with Chairman Sagintayev, they discussed practical steps to implement the Memorandum of Understanding between the CICA Secretariat and the Eurasian Economic Commission, signed in October 2022, including possible joint initiatives.
The CICA Secretariat attaches high priority to deepening interaction with the EAEU, considering it an important platform for converging economic potentials, exchanging knowledge and promoting practical cooperation in Eurasia.
