The ways to strengthen practical cooperation of the CICA Member States in the financial sector were discussed at the CICA Finance Summit on April 17, 2021.
The Finance Summit was initiated by the People's Republic of China as part of a confidence building measure in the economic area to intensify cooperation among the CICA Member States in the field of finance.
The event was attended by a number of CICA Member States, the leadership of ministries and financial structures of the People's Republic of China, representatives of research institutes. The Finance Summit was also observed by numerous representatives of funds and institutions of the CICA Member States through the Internet.
The participants of the Summit discussed sustainable development, promotion of the green economy, new information technology and enhancement of cooperation in the financial sector. As part of the Finance Summit, the participants also attended a round table on “Diversified and Inclusive CICA Region, Open and Pragmatic Local Cooperation” to exchange views on economic recovery in the post-pandemic period.
In his welcoming remarks, Executive Director of the CICA Secretariat Kairat Sarybay noted that CICA – a unique platform for developing mutually beneficial cooperation and conducting an effective exchange of views on regional economic development. Ambassador Kairat Sarybay called on the Member States to actively promote broad-based cooperation in order to effectively maintain global and regional financial stability and security.
The event was organized by the China Association for the Promotion of Development Financing in cooperation with the Jinan Municipal Government, under the leadership of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the People's Republic of China.
