On September 23, 2019, an Informal Meeting of the CICA Foreign Ministers was convened in New York city on the sidelines of the 74th Session of the United Nations General Assembly. The meeting was moderated by the acting CICA Chair - Sirojiddin Muhriddin, Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Tajikistan.

Head of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Tajikistan briefed participants on the outcomes of the Fifth CICA Summit held in Dushanbe on June 2019. It was highlighted that Declaration of the Summit, representing the consolidated position of 27 CICA Members States on urgent issues of the international agenda has become a valuable contribution to strengthening trust and cooperation in Asia.

In accordance with the agenda Executive Director of the CICA Secretariat, H. Mirzozoda, presented for consideration of the ministers the draft Work Plan and the Budget of the Secretariat for 2020. The plan envisages a number of events to be held within the framework of the Catalogue of Confidence Building Measures in all 5 CICA dimensions. Active valuable contributions to the plan by Turkey, Kazakhstan, India, and China in their capacity of coordinators of Confidence Building Measures were underlined with appreciation.
