The meeting of the CICA Senior Officials Committee was held under the Chairmanship of the First Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Kazakhstan H.E. Shakhrat Nuryshev. The meeting was held within the framework of preparation for the 6th Meeting of the Ministers of Foreign Affairs of CICA Member States, scheduled on 11-12 October 2021 in Nur-Sultan.
Chair of the SOC - First Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Kazakhstan H.E. Shakhrat Nuryshev informed delegates about ongoing preparations for the upcoming Ministerial Meeting.
The SOC reviewed the draft documents for ministerial adoption. The draft of the updated CICA Catalogue of Confidence Building Measures, one of the cornerstone documents, defining the main areas of the Conference’s activities since 2004, as well as the draft amendment to the CICA Rules of Procedure, were approved. The SOC has also tentatively agreed on establishing a new CICA institute - the Think Tank Forum.
The CICA Executive Director Ambassador Kairat Sarybay briefed the delegates on the activities of the Secretariat in the reporting period, including on preparation of the Plan on implementation of CBMs for 2022 and development and launch of a new website of the CICA Secretariat.
The SOC will renew its work on 8 October 2021.
