The “Forum of Interaction and Trust” exhibition, dedicated to the history and development of the Conference on Interaction and Confidence Building Measures in Asia (CICA), was launched at the Museum of the First President of the Republic of Kazakhstan. The exhibition was organized by the Library of the First President of the Republic of Kazakhstan – Elbasy in partnership with the CICA Secretariat. The opening ceremony was attended by the Heads of diplomatic missions and representatives of international organizations.
Director of the Library of the First President Mr. Bakytzhan Temirbolat and CICA Executive Director Ambassador Kairat Sarybay addressed the exhibition participants.
The exhibition is designed to familiarize visitors with the history of CICA - one of the significant foreign policy initiatives of the First President of the Republic of Kazakhstan - Elbasy Nursultan Nazarbayev, aimed at promoting peace and harmony in Asia. The exhibition reflects a personal contribution of the Founder of the forum, the First President of the Republic of Kazakhstan, to development of CICA; the idea was first announced from the rostrum of the UN General Assembly in 1992.
The exhibition displayed unique archival documents covering important milestones of CICA, historical photographs illustrating important events in the history of the forum, collections, books and publications about CICA, as well as other memorable souvenirs.
As noted by Ambassador Kairat Sarybay, it is quite reasonable, that the thematic exhibition dedicated to the history of CICA which has been convened by Elbasy is being organized for the first time at the Museum of the First President of the Republic of Kazakhstan.
The exhibition was launched on October 12, 2021 and became the first event within the framework of the upcoming 30th anniversary of CICA.
