Statement by CICA Deputy Executive Director Ms. Chi Fang on the occasion of the voluntary contribution of the State of Israel

The Secretariat of the Conference on Interaction and Confidence Building Measures in Asia expresses its sincere gratitude to the Government of the State of Israel for its voluntary contribution to the budget of the Secretariat.

We recognize it not only as financial support, but also as an expression of Israel's political will to strengthen the capacity of CICA for a higher degree of interaction to ensure security and development on a continental and global scale.

We sincerely hope that Israel, being an active participant of the CICA process, will further contribute to the activities of CICA by holding events aimed at strengthening confidence building measures in priority areas of cooperation.

We are particularly appreciative of CICA Member States – Kazakhstan, China, Republic of Korea, Turkey, Thailand and Tajikistan – which have already made financial contributions in 2021.

Voluntary contributions demonstrate the effectiveness of CICA in enhancing the pan-Asian security architecture, and that its activities are of keen interest among Member States.

Taking this opportunity, we would like to express our gratitude to Member States for their continued support for the CICA Secretariat’s work.
