On January 15, 2019, a delegation of the Cooperation Forum Central Asia-Republic of Korea, headed by Executive Vice-President of Korea Foundation - Executive Director Amb. Kim Seong-in, visited the CICA Secretariat. This visit was aimed to have interaction with the CICA Secretariat for the possible future engagements between the two forums. Deputy Executive Director Ms Anel Bakytbekkyzy and members of professional personnel participated in the meeting.
During the discussion Ms A.Bakytbekkyzy briefed the delegation about the evolution of CICA and implementation process in various confidence building measures, as well as highlighted the role of Republic of Korea since its joining CICA in 2006.
Amb. Kim Seong-in informed that the Cooperation Forum Central Asia-Republic of Korea is set up to elevate the ROK-Central Asia relations to a higher level, to expand and deepen the cooperation in the areas of tourism, transportation, logistics, culture, water management and etc.
Considering that the all member states of Cooperation Forum Central Asia-Republic of Korea are also the members of CICA, both the sides agreed to explore the possibilities of further cooperation between the two forums.
