Youth cooperation is the most important factor in ensuring sustainable development of the CICA Member States

On June 18, 2021, the Fourth Meeting of the CICA Youth Council discussed strengthening of youth exchange and interaction of Asian youth organizations in an online format. 

The Youth Council is a consultative and advisory body that ensures coordination of the activities carried out by the member youth organizations and associations from the CICA Member States and is designed to promote the development of comprehensive cooperation among the youth in the CICA area.

In his welcoming remarks, Executive Director of the CICA Secretariat Ambassador Kairat Sarybay noted that the youth was destined to be a driving force of the development and therefore it was important to step up cooperation between national youth organizations of the CICA Member States, to encourage the youth to participate in the implementation of youth policies and to develop recommendations and proposals for improvement of cooperation in the CICA area in their interests.

At the meeting, the participants discussed further development of all-round cooperation among the youth of the CICA Member States, the role of the youth in the fight against new challenges and threats related to the environment under the UN Sustainable Development Goals.

As a result of the meeting, the participants agreed to continue active interaction to further strengthen cooperation between the youth of the CICA Member States.

The event was attended by the members of the Youth Council, representatives of youth organizations, associations and movements from the CICA Member States.
