19 June 2024 – Astana, Kazakhstan – CICA Secretary General Ambassador Kairat Sarybay met with a delegation from China led by Mr. Yu Yunquan, Vice President of the China International Communications Group. The parties discussed ways to expand cooperation in communications and cultural exchange.
Secretary General Kairat Sarybay emphasized China’s significant contribution to the development and strengthening of CICA, expressing gratitude for the continued support of the organization. He also shared his impressions of his visit to China in March 2024 to take part in the Boao Forum for Asia, noting the common goals of CICA and China in the field of international security and global sustainable development.
For his part, Mr. Yu Yunquan confirmed China’s continued commitment to cooperation with CICA since its establishment and highly appreciated the achievements of CICA over the past years. He emphasized that CICA has the potential to play an important role in Asia and expressed the readiness of his agency to assist in promoting and spreading the idea and principles of CICA among the general public.
Particular attention was paid to discussing possible joint projects and other practical aspects of cooperation in the field of communications and cultural exchange, including in order to increase the visibility of CICA among a large Chinese-speaking audience.
