Thailand presents the Suphannahong Royal Barge replica to the CICA Secretariat




Astana, 1 October 2025 – CICA Deputy Secretary General Farid Damirli welcomed a delegation from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Kingdom of Thailand and Chulalongkorn University, led by H.E. Piyapin Niyomrerks, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Kingdom of Thailand, who presented the Secretariat with a replica of the “Suphannahong” Royal Barge.

Ambassador Niyomrerks highlighted the significance of the Royal Barge as an important element of Thailand’s cultural heritage and the legacy of the Chakri dynasty.

Deputy Secretary General Damirli expressed sincere appreciation for this valuable donation to the CICA Cultural Collection: “Embracing Diversity through Art.” He also thanked Thailand for its financial contributions to the Secretariat’s budget and commended the Kingdom’s active engagement in confidence building measures, particularly in sustainable development, SME promotion, and women’s empowerment.

The parties also exchanged views on the outcomes of the Informal CICA Ministerial Council Meeting, held in New York on 25 September 2025 on the sidelines of the 80th UN General Assembly, and discussed the CICA working calendar for 2026, with a focus on confidence building measures and activities under the CICA Think Tank Forum.
