Kuwait’s contribution highlights deepening engagement within CICA framework




Astana, 17 February 2026 — The Secretary General of the Conference on Interaction and Confidence Building Measures in Asia (CICA), H.E. Ambassador Kairat Sarybay, received Mr. Meshari Al-Sayegh, Charge d’Affaires a.i. of the State of Kuwait in the Republic of Kazakhstan, at the CICA Headquarters.

The meeting marked the occasion of Kuwait’s latest voluntary financial contribution to the CICA Secretariat budget, further reaffirming its enduring support for the organization’s confidence building objectives.

The Secretary General recalled that Kuwait’s contribution in February 2024 enabled the translation and subsequent publication of the “Tales of Asia” compilation in Arabic and Kazakh, promoting multilingual outreach and expanding the accessibility of CICA’s cultural initiatives across the Arab world and the wider Asian region.

The Secretary General expressed appreciation to the State of Kuwait, emphasizing that these contributions, reflect a sustained commitment to strengthening multilateral cooperation within CICA. As the organization’s newest Member State, Kuwait possesses considerable potential capable of bringing important added value to CICA activities.

The CICA Secretary General also briefed the guest on Member States’ contributions to the CICA Headquarters, reflecting the rich diversity and shared spirit of Asia embodied in the premises.

The meeting reaffirmed Kuwait’s growing engagement within CICA and highlighted the organization’s unique role in building trust, fostering dialogue and advancing cooperation for peace and stability across Asia.
