Organizer: Community Development for Peace (CDP) of Bangladesh, in collaboration with the School of Architecture and Design (SoAD), BRAC University, supported by the CICA Secretariat
Participants: Youth (15–24 years old) from CICA Member States, particularly students and young professionals in environmental, climate, sustainability and related fields, with a focus on gender equality and inclusion of marginalized groups and persons with disabilities.
Objective: As the kick-off event of the CICA Fund-approved project “Empowering Youth of CICA Member States for Climate Action through Nature-Based Solutions (NbS),” the Workshop aims to enhance participants’ understanding of Nature-Based Solutions and their role in climate resilience and sustainable development. It will explore the links between NbS, indigenous knowledge, traditional practices and innovative approaches to addressing environmental challenges, while providing practical training on identifying, assessing and evaluating NbS using internationally recognized frameworks. The Workshop will also promote inclusive approaches benefiting vulnerable communities, strengthen youth engagement in climate action, and assign tasks for the evaluation of NbS initiatives in selected CICA Member States as part of subsequent project activities.
