Objectives:
The side event and accompanying photo exhibition, organized on the margins of HLPF, aim to promote volunteerism as a confidence building measure and a driver of sustainable development across the CICA region. The event will feature the presentation of the e-book "Review of Best Volunteerism Practices in CICA Member States", highlighting national volunteerism initiatives and experiences.
The discussion will focus on volunteerism as a tool for strengthening trust, civic participation and regional cooperation, while emphasizing its contribution to the implementation of the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development. It will also showcase inclusive volunteerism, including the engagement of youth, women and other social groups.
The side event is expected to strengthen cooperation between CICA Member States, the United Nations system and relevant stakeholders, promote the implementation of CICA confidence building measures, and enhance the visibility of volunteerism within the CICA framework through greater knowledge-sharing and partnership.
