On October 20, 2020 the online round table "Digital Economy and its role in the development of small and medium enterprises in CICA Member States" was conducted by the initiative of the Russia, in capacity of coordinator of confidence building measures in the development of small and medium enterprises (SMEs). Event was organized by the Ministry of Economic Development of the Russian Federation with assistance of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Russian Federation and was aimed to activate respective practical dialogue in the framework of the Forum.
Representatives of state authorities and public institutions from Russia, Kazakhstan, Azerbaijan, India, Jordan, Iran, Cambodia, Qatar, UAE, Tajikistan, Thailand, Uzbekistan, Sri Lanka and CICA Secretariat participated at the meeting.
There was an experience and information exchange concerning the use of existing digital capabilities for the SMEs development. Participants stressed key objectives on digitalization of this economy sector, particularly during the conditions of strengthening global epidemiological challenges.
Russia presented draft of the Digital platform, which suggests launching to the year 2024 of main segment of comprehensive digital ecosystem oriented to the needs of users such as SMEs subjects, self-employed citizens and persons willing to open own business.
During the roundtable discussion sessions statements were delivered by the representatives of Azerbaijan (topic - creation of the Single window of experts), India (national SMEs development program), and Jordan (digital transformation).
