Deputy Secretary General of the Conference on Interaction and Confidence Building Measures in Asia (CICA) Ms Chi Fang had a working meeting with Ambassador Daulet Yemberdiyev, Director of Cooperation and Humanitarian Aid Office of the Islamic Organization for Food Security (IOFS), a specialized institution of the Organisation of Islamic Cooperation (OIC), on 11 April 2023 at the CICA headquarters.
The parties discussed possible ways to implement the initiative of President of Kazakhstan Kassym-Jomart Tokayev announced at the Sixth CICA Summit in Astana in October 2022 to establish cooperation between CICA and the IOFS.
The CICA Deputy Secretary General commended the resolution on economic issues adopted at the 49th Session of the OIC Council of Foreign Ministers in Nouakchott (Mauritania) on 16-17 March 2023, which welcomed the initiative of President Tokayev.
The parties agreed to continue bilateral consultations in order to develop fruitful interaction for the benefit of all member states of both organizations.
