On November 25, 2020, the Executive Director of the CICA Secretariat, Ambassador K. Sarybay, held an online meeting with Mr. Zhang Xiao, the Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary Ambassador of the People's Republic of China to the Republic of Kazakhstan.
The Executive Director commended the Government of the People's Republic of China for continuous support of the CICA process. Mr. K.Sarybay particularly noted China's contribution to the development of the Conference during its period of Chairmanship in 2014 - 2018.
During the conversation, Mr. K.Sarybay informed the interlocutor about current CICA activities and plans for the upcoming period. He expressed hope for close interaction in the implementation of the initiatives for the development of the Conference.
Ambassador Zhang Xiao commended the CICA mission for strengthening security and development in Asia. He agreed that coordination of the CICA Member States' activities is important in combating COVID-19. He confirmed that the People's Republic of China has consistently attached the utmost importance to the CICA process.
