The initiative of the First President of Kazakhstan - Elbasy Nursultan Nazarbayev to convene the Conference on Interaction and Confidence-Building Measures in Asia (CICA) laid the foundation for a pan-Asian platform for dialogue on regional security architecture, which is designed to be open, transparent, inclusive, evolutionary and based on universally recognized principles of international law, stated Ambassador Kairat Sarybay.
On the eve of the Day of the First President of the Republic of Kazakhstan, Executive Director of the CICA Secretariat Ambassador Kairat Sarybay made a presentation at the International Conference "Nursultan Nazarbayev: a Global Politician" on November 30, 2020, which was organized by the Kazakhstan Institute for Strategic Studies under the President of the Republic of Kazakhstan and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Kazakhstan.
The head of the CICA Secretariat noted that since the First Summit in Almaty in 2002, five meetings were held on a regular basis at the level of the heads of state and government of the CICA, which ended with the adoption of the relevant Declarations reflecting the Forum's attitude to the most important aspects of modern international relations. He emphasized that the high efficiency of the summit meetings demonstrates the significant potential of the Conference in building comprehensive, sustainable, indivisible and equal security for all in Asia.
The positive evolution of the CICA, which unites 27 Asian states, constituting more than 90% of the continent, where more than half of the world's population lives, producing more than 50% of world GDP and providing two-thirds of global economic growth was noted.
According to Ambassador Kairat Sarybay, the foreign policy worldview of the First President of Kazakhstan is based on a firm commitment to the principles of international law, where the UN Charter and its key provisions play a central role.
Nursultan Nazarbayev, being a staunch supporter of multilateral approaches to ensuring peace, security and stability, has always stood for the diplomatic settlement of disputes, for international coordination of efforts in the fight against terrorism and other new threats and challenges, for the expansion of trade and economic cooperation in the name of the well-being and prosperity of nations , the need for coordinated international interaction to solve environmental problems.
The report emphasizes that consistency and predictability, and at the same time bold innovative approaches based on a thorough analysis of historical and current experience, as well as the gift of political foresight have become the main components of deep trust in Nursultan Nazarbayev on the part of political leaders and statesmen, leaders of authoritative international organizations. It is no coincidence that the Declaration of the Fifth CICA Summit in Dushanbe expresses high gratitude to the First President of Kazakhstan Nursultan Nazarbayev for his significant contribution to the development of CICA as its founder.
The Conference was attended by prominent statesmen and public figures of Kazakhstan and a number of states and heads of international organizations, including the Chairman of the Senate of the Parliament of the Republic of Kazakhstan M.S.
