CICA is proud to announce the successful conclusion of a thrilling football tournament that brought together representatives from the Embassies of six CICA Member States in Kazakhstan, including the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Kazakhstan, and the CICA Secretariat in a celebration of sport and camaraderie. The event was held on 15 October 2023 and witnessed well-organized teamwork and individual skills on the football field.
The annual football tournament dedicated to CICA Day brought together the diplomatic missions in Astana in a friendly setting and aimed at strengthening interaction and promoting a healthy lifestyle. Diplomats and representatives of the Embassies of China, Egypt, Iran, Russia, Türkiye, and Uzbekistan competed in the event.
CICA Secretary General Kairat Sarybay expressed his delight at the tournament's success. He said, "It is rather comforting to realize that such informal activities have become a regular tradition here in Astana, allowing the CICA family to make new connections, build confidence, and just have fun".
After a thrilling day of matches, the Embassy of Russia took first place, winning in the final match with a score of 3-2 against the Embassy of Türkiye, which secured second place. The Embassy of Uzbekistan won against the Embassy of Egypt, taking third place. CICA Deputy Secretary General Chi Fang and Ambassador Doulat Kuanyshev presented the winning teams with award plates, and gave certificates to all the participants of the tournament.
CICA is already looking ahead to future editions of this event, with the hope of expanding participation in such events. As the following sports event, the Secretariat is planning to organize a table tennis tournament by the end of 2023.
