A delegation from the Publicity Department of the Communist Party of China (CPC) Central Committee, headed by Vice Minister Wang Gang, paid a visit to the Secretariat of the Conference on Interaction and Confidence Building Measures in Asia (CICA) on 6 November 2023. The sides discussed numerous topics, including possibilities for closer cooperation in the field of communications and cultural exchange.
While extending a warm welcome to the guests, the Secretary General Kairat Sarybay conveyed his appreciation to the People's Republic of China (PRC) for its constant political and material support of CICA and highlighted its significant contribution to the development and strengthening of the organization. He also shared his impressions of recent visits to China, where he participated in the Belt and Road Forum and the Xiangshan Forum. Furthermore, Ambassador Sarybay emphasized the shared objectives of CICA and the PRC in the realms of global security and global sustainable development.
Vice Minister Wang Gang also underscored China’s enduring commitment to cooperation with CICA since the founding of the organization and commended CICA’s achievements over the years. He highlighted that CICA has the potential to play a larger role in ensuring peace and security in the region given today’s complex geopolitical situation. Additionally, he assured that collaboration between CICA and China in the field of cultural exchange will be sure to develop substantially.
Both sides agreed to continue to cooperate more closely to achieve their common goals of sustainable development and security in the region.
The productive discussions between CICA and the Publicity Department of the CPC Central Committee underline their shared dedication to fostering regional peace, security and development.
