The Ministry of Culture and Information together with the CICA Secretariat hosted an online experts meeting on 7 November 2023 in preparation for the Rally of Volunteer Movement Leaders of the CICA countries to be held in Astana in 2024 under the auspices of the CICA Youth Council, an initiative proposed by President of Kazakhstan Kassym-Jomart Tokayev at the Sixth CICA Summit in October 2022. At the meeting, representatives of CICA Member States discussed the draft Concept Paper and housekeeping issues of the upcoming 2024 Rally.
In her opening remarks, CICA Deputy Secretary General Ms. Zhang Ling highlighted the relevance of volunteerism to the CICA agenda, as evidenced by the Statement on Promoting Volunteerism for Sustainable Development adopted at the informal meeting of the CICA Ministerial Council on the sidelines of the High-level Week of the UN General Assembly session in New York on 21 September this year.
During the online consultation, representatives of CICA Member States covered the main areas outlined in the draft Concept Paper and expressed their support for the 2024 Rally.
