15 February 2024 – Astana – CICA Deputy Secretary General Zhang Ling took part in the 3rd International Youth Volunteer Conference “BRICS to You” conducted online.
The forum brought together youth representatives from the BRICS+ countries, in which several CICA Member States and observers are also known to participate. The conference participants shared their initiatives in the field of international volunteer projects and discussed ways to further strengthen international cooperation in this area.
In her address, Zhang Ling emphasized that volunteerism was one of the significant issues on the current CICA agenda. The Statement on Promoting Volunteerism for Sustainable Development adopted by the CICA Ministerial Council in September 2023 is particularly important in this regard.
The CICA Deputy Secretary General informed the conference participants that the Kazakh capital, Astana, would host the Rally of Volunteer Movement Leaders of the CICA Countries under the auspices of the CICA Youth Council on 16-17 May 2024. The preparation for this forum is among the priorities of the Kazakh Chairmanship in CICA for the current year.
Zhang Ling's address was received with great interest by the participants of the “BRICS to You” online conference.
