20 February 2024 — Astana — The Ministry of Science and Higher Education of the Republic of Kazakhstan, together with the CICA Secretariat, held the second online meeting of experts to discuss a draft Memorandum of Establishment of the Partnership Network of Leading Universities of the CICA Member States.
During the online consultations, representatives of the Member States considered and finalized the draft Memorandum and made a recommendation for its further consideration at the upcoming meetings of the CICA Special Working Group and Senior Officials Committee.
This initiative underlines the aspiration of the Member States to strengthen cooperation in the field of higher education and science and contributes to the development of academic ties among universities in the CICA region.
It should be noted that the creation of a Partnership Network of Leading Universities of the CICA Member States was proposed by President of the Republic of Kazakhstan Kassym-Jomart Tokayev at the Sixth CICA Summit in October 2022 in order to promote academic exchanges, joint research projects and cooperation programmes among Asian universities.
