The Ministry of Transport of the Republic of Kazakhstan, with the support of the CICA Secretariat, held an experts meeting on 29 February 2024 to discuss the concept paper for the establishment of the council on sustainable connectivity within the organization.
During the fruitful discussions, the participants had a useful exchange of views on connectivity, and progress was made on the text of the document. The work on the concept paper will continue at the next experts meeting in May.
The initiative to establish the council on sustainable connectivity was proposed by President of Kazakhstan Kassym-Jomart Tokayev at the Sixth CICA Summit in October 2022. Institutionalizing dialogue in this area has become one of the priorities of the Kazakh Chairmanship in CICA for 2022-2024.
