On the December 2-7, 2018 a seminar on the topic of «Modern Agricultural Technology and Value Chain Development Training and Workshop» had taken place at the Chinese Academy of Agricultural Sciences and supported by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of P.R.China with participation of CICA Secretariat in Beijing. Representatives of relevant ministries and research centers of the CICA member states (India, Turkey, Iran, Pakistan, Cambodia, Sri Lanka, the Republic of Korea, the Philippines, Mongolia, Thailand), as well as from several African countries took part in the event.

    The host acquainted the guests with the scientific achievements in the field of agriculture, promising areas of development and the goals of the agro-industrial complex of China, and also vividly demonstrated the implementation of advanced technologies in the industry, showing a number of existing enterprises. In addition, the Chinese side familiarized the delegates of the seminar with joint projects of international organizations on programs to improve nutrition of the population, as well as the formation of market-oriented agricultural enterprises of small and medium-sized businesses.

    An exchange of views on the issues proposed by the hosts had taken place during the seminar.
At the end of the event, the participants supported the proposal of the Chinese side to consider the formation of a training group that will help exchanging experience and implementing new technologies in agriculture.

   The participants also supported the proposal of the Secretariat on the active use of the CICA platform to promote specialized cooperation between the Member States and other countries.
