Thailand organizes training course “Sustainable Community Development Applying Sufficiency Economy Philosophy from theory to practice” for CICA Member States




Thailand, as the coordinator of confidence building measure on sustainable development, conducted an online training course “Sustainable Community Development Applying Sufficiency Economy Philosophy from theory to practice” for the CICA Member States on September 20-27, 2021.

As part of the training course, participants from Bahrain, Egypt, Iran, Jordan, Kazakhstan, Turkey attended lectures on the following topics:

-      Rural Development in Thailand

-      Sufficiency Economy Philosophy (SEP): Theory and Practice

-      Agricultural New Theory: Application of SEP in Practice

-      Community - Based Microcredit

The participants exchanged experience in the development of investment policy, education, healthcare, social protection in their countries, and discussed capacity-building in order to ensure a balanced way of life and sustainable development.

The course highlighted the need for efforts in key areas, including poverty alleviation, democratic governance and peacebuilding, climate change and disaster risk reduction, and economic inequality. The participants noted that the implementation of the 17 Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) adopted by the UN would lead states to sustainable development in all major areas of life and to the resolution of global problems affecting every person in this world.
